PROJECT ICT-ALABAMA
An ICT Literacy Training and Certification Pilot Project

The project focused on providing basic ICT literacy skills to help ensure that trainees are technologically literate as they either enter or re-enter the workforce of the 21st century. Through effective role definition in the partnerships, focused objectives and product outcomes, and consistent monitoring, quality ICT Literacy training and Certification was delivered at 32% of the cost per trainee to traditional national and state worker training projects.

Profile

Brenda Kempster, President and founder of KEMPSTER GROUP served as Chair of the National Coalition for Technology in Education and Training (NCTET) —a role in which she assisted the White House in developing policy and strategic alliances for the national information infrastructure. As a former Board Member of the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) and a national known advocate of educational technology and telecommunications, she serves on many national and state committees and panels. Brenda has been honored for achievements in telecommunications, public relations, and government relations, including:

Federal 100 Award Recipient—named as one of 100 most influential in telecommunications by Federal ComputerWeek Magazine.
